Biography:

Professor Songül Fiat Varol is working in Manisa Celal Bayar University in Electric and Energy department. Her main research interests have been materials science especially technology of semiconductor materials and devices including solar cells, light emitting diodes (LEDs/OLEDs). She has published more than 30 scientific papers in this field in the internationally recognized journals. She has supervised 1 Ph.D. and 5 M.Sc. studies. She has coordinated many national/ international projects and joined more than 40 international scientific conferences and meetings as invited speaker/speaker/organising committee member.
In 2010, she conducted various researches on Chalcopyrite Solar Cells with Professor Michael Kompitsas (Director of Research Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute -National Hellenic Research Foundation)and his team in Laser-based Techniques and Applications - LATA in Greece through the “Tubitak 2214 International Research Fellowship Programme for PhD Students”. She has published in high-ranking SCI-expanded journals on the production and characterization of many organic/inorganic-based thin-film materials that are the most trending in science like ZnO, TiO2, CuInGaSeTe, Nitrides (GaN, AlN) etc. She still continues her research on Organic/Inorganic LED and PV device production and improvement of their properties.
